The Auxiliary’s Community Service Chairwoman is working with the Leesburg Food Pantry to collect needed items each month. This month, September, they have requested canned goods, though they have plenty of corn and beans.
Volunteer forms are located in the back, to the left of the bar. Please fill out a form for all donations so the Auxiliary can report it to the state Auxiliary.
Saturday, Sept. 7: Choice of Country Fried Steak or Meatball Subs
Saturday, Sept. 14: Lasagna, Salad, Dessert
Saturday, Sept. 21: Spaghetti Dinner, Dessert
If you would like to help by donating a couple of hours in the kitchen, we would appreciate it. Volunteers help collect the money and serve up the meal. Please see an officer to volunteer.
Please join the AmVets Ladies Auxiliary Post 2006 in a BAKELESS BAKE SALE.
You are invited to NOT bake a cake, pie, cookies, or brownies. You do NOT have to find the recipe. You do NOT have to shop for the ingredients. You do NOT have to mix. You do NOT have to cook. You do NOT have to cut. You do NOT have to wrap. You do NOT have to wash dishes. You do NOT have to clean up your kitchen. You do NOT have to deliver the baked product. You do NOT have to stand in the heat/cold/rain to sell the baked product.
Instead, please donate the dollar value of what you would have baked to the Auxiliary.
The Auxiliary raises money all year, and donations to our charities are made in April each year. For a complete list of the charities we support, please see the financial report on our board at the Post.

The membership will be voting on the distribution of money raised in the past year at its April meeting, April 1, 4:30 p.m. All members are strongly encouraged to attend. You must sign in to vote – bring your membership card.
At this meeting we will also be accepting nominations of officers for the coming year. Final nominations and voting takes place at the May meeting – May 6. Please consider volunteering for an office.
The next Auxiliary Dinner will be Saturday, Dec. 2. Claudia will be serving up country fried steak with gravy, mashed potatoes, a vegetable and dessert.
There are still 8 turkeys and 8 hams to be won for you holiday meals! The Party continues on Monday, Nov. 20 at 6 p.m. Each round will cost you $2 to play. You get three chances to win – a turkey, a ham, a door prize. See you there.
The Thursday night games resume this week. Bang is Sept. 7 and will be held on the first, third and 5th Thursdays of the month. Show Me the Money is Sept. 14 and will be held on the second and fourth Thursdays. Both games offer cash prizes and a building jackpot. New players encouraged to join us. Games are simple; we’ll help you if you don’t know how to play!
On Tuesday, April 4, the Post is hosting a blood drive from 1-6 p.m. All donors receive a $20 eGift card and a LifeSouth T-shirt. If you can donate it would be greatly appreciated.
According to LifeSouth’s website: “LifeSouth is a community blood center. That means the blood supply collected from our donors directly serves the needs of patients in our local community. As a blood donor, you are a vital part of a team of individuals working together to save the lives of patients in our area’s hospitals.”
